iStratus DayPlanner and Dropbox -- the Perfect Pair for Digital Organizing with iPhone and iPad

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., July 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Created to work both online and offline since its development began, the iStratus® DayPlanner is an organization and productivity app that combines personal and business calendars, contacts, receipts, documents, voice memos and to-dos in one place. The app is comparable in many ways to the comprehensive functions of pre-digital paper-and-ink day planners, but it leverages technologythat maximizes the capabilities of iPad and iPhone mobile devices and cloud data storage.

"iStratus was fundamentally designed with cloud storage and online/offline access in mind," says Mark Johns, chief technology officer of iStratus LLC. "This app supercharges Dropbox to give users more convenience, control, and security than ever before."

Users of the iStratus DayPlanner can access files and folders even without an internet connection, a major contrast to current functionality when Dropbox is used on its own, without the iStratus DayPlanner integration. In addition, a user can make changes and add new documents, files and folders while offline. When an internet connection is restored, all the offline work syncs with Dropbox. Files are stored in Dropbox and on the iPhone or iPad, through a secure tab called Cabinet in iStratus DayPlanner, which makes documents and data available any time and in any place, on the user's mobile device. "Think about getting on a plane and getting to work on documents without an internet connection," says Johns. "This app makes it possible to do your work and then have it automatically saved to Dropbox just a few hours later."

Another first-time innovation of the iStratus DayPlanner is the ability to navigate in, and search, the entire contents of a Dropbox account while offline. The search function in iStratus DayPlanner is designed to index items by name, comment, tag, and completion status, similar to how a traditional search engine functions.

"iStratus aims to support and maximize a lifestyle and work-style in a culture that is increasingly on the move," says Johns. "With high-quality Dropbox integration, iStratus DayPlanner liberates users to work from anywhere, with the reassurance that none of their data is going to slip through the cracks."

The iStratus DayPlanner is a free download at the Apple App Store during the introductory period. A nominal fee for the continuation of the calendar functionality beyond 2015 is planned. Search for iStratus to find the app, or discover more about it at iStratus.com.
