Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, announced the winners of the 2015 Elsevier Leading Stars in Education Award (ELSIE). "All three of these winners have become master teachers, providing a stimulating environment for this kind of education," said John Danaher, President, Elsevier Education. As the primary director of an advanced nursing education grant, she has developed and implemented an innovative online teaching program that prepares student for interprofessional collaboration.

Focused on "active learning," Dr. Victoria Hedderick teaches across the curriculum from sophomore through senior years, assessing students' medication knowledge. In addition, Dr. Hedderick utilizes gaming as a teaching strategy and bases it on the popular show, "The Amazing Race."

Cynthia Rubbelke is the e-technology expert for Saint Louis University School of Nursing. Her career has focused on keeping pace with the increasing complexities in today's digital healthcare resources for nursing students.
