ATLANTA, GA -- (Marketwired) -- 02/13/15 -- United Technology Group, a premium provider of IT services in metro Atlanta, announces the acquisition of Magnicom, a veteran managed services provider with specialties in financial and healthcare verticals. This latest acquisition adds tenured technical personnel and expands UTG's MSP operations.
Founded in 2004, UTG's headquarters in Suwanee, GA., serves the IT needs of SMB and midmarket companies in metro Atlanta while its Augusta, GA. office serves the Central Savanna River Area (CSRA).
UTG is a five-time Inc. 5000 honoree, was named the 26th fastest growing SMB by Ingram Micro and the 148th best Managed Service Provider in the world by MSPMentor. Magnicom, headquartered in Dunwoody, GA, is the fourth company in this space that UTG has acquired as part of its growth strategy.
"We are excited for the unique value we bring to existing Magnicom customers," said Brian Miller, President of UTG. "Our dedicated relationship managers, solutions architects, and project managers allow us to maintain the highest level of relationship and efficiency with our clients while allowing our technical personnel to stay focused on problem solving."
In addition to UTG's strong managed services solutions, Magnicom clients will further benefit from its strategic business planning, professional project management and cloud computing solutions to meet their growing needs.
"I chose UTG for the acquisition simply because I felt Magnicom customers and employees would be in the best hands with them," said Neil Smith, former principal of Magnicom. "I wanted to ensure that our clients' immediate and future needs would be met seamlessly and with the care and competency they deserve."
Both parties are confident that this acquisition will strengthen UTG's capabilities in delivering efficient, consistent and scalable managed and professional IT services.
"Our highest and most immediate priority is ensuring the continuation of seamless service and support for Magnicom clients," said Mike Verner, COO of UTG. "Smooth integration of operations and employees is also a critical focal point for us."
This news is UTG's third major announcement this week. Also reported this week was UTG's 327% Microsoft cloud practice growth, placing it in the top 2% of all Microsoft partners worldwide, and UTG's pledge to invest in Cisco's UCS platform and partnerships to make UCS more available to its medium and midmarket clients, such as its newly acquired Magnicom clients.
