Italian clean energy developer Enel Green Power has announced it is to invest around $600 million in developing 553 MW of solar PV capacity in Brazil having been more successful than any other participant in the country's latest Leilão de Reserva public tender. Enel was awarded the right to sign 20-year energy supply contracts for three large-scale solar PV plants, which include a 103 MW development in Horizonte MP, a 158 MW array in Lapa, and a 292 MW installation in Nova Olinda in northeast Brazil's Ceara state.
