CNH Industrial construction equipment plant achieves Bronze Level designation in World Class Manufacturing

The Case Construction Equipment plant in San Mauro, Italy has been awarded bronze level following an independent audit. This achievement follows CNH Industrial's investment in transforming San Mauro into a flagship production site for excavators in the EMEA region.

LONDON, May 18, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- CASE Construction Equipment, the global construction equipment brand of CNH Industrial N.V. (NYSE: CNHI /MI: CNHI), received a Bronze Level World Class Manufacturing (WCM) certification for its excavator plant in San Mauro, Italy. CASE manufactures, sells and supports a full line of construction equipment around the world. This portfolio includes loader/backhoes, excavators, motor graders, wheel loaders, vibratory compaction rollers, crawler dozers, skid steers, compact track loaders and rough-terrain forklifts.

WCM is one of the global manufacturing industry's highest standards for the integrated management of manufacturing plants and processes. It is a pillar-structured system based on continuous improvement, designed to eliminate waste and loss from the production process by identifying objectives such as zero injuries, zero defects, zero breakdowns and zero waste.

The San Mauro site most recently underwent an extensive redevelopment project to bring EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) region excavator production under one roof. Today, the site manufactures crawler excavators, wheeled excavators and mini-excavators destined for various global markets in EMEA, Asia Pacific, North America and Latin America. With the recent developments, San Mauro boasts greater flexibility in responding to customer needs and observing specific customization requirements.

Motivations behind the site's bronze level win include its adoption of key WCM Pillars such as Focused Improvement, which ensures the implementation of projects to reduce and eliminate losses at the site in terms of productivity and material. The plant further demonstrated strengths in a number of Managerial Pillars within the WCM program, including Clarity of Objective and the Allocation of Highly Qualified People.

CNH Industrial has 61 plants around the world involved in WCM, now totaling 12 silver and 22 bronze level designations. The widespread use of WCM principles at CNH Industrial manufacturing facilities allows the entire company, totaling some 64,000 employees across 180 countries, to share a common culture based on efficient processes and on a language universally recognized across all plants and countries in which CNH Industrial operates.

CNH Industrial N.V. (NYSE: CNHI /MI: CNHI) is a global leader in the capital goods sector with established industrial experience, a wide range of products and a worldwide presence. Each of the individual brands belonging to the Company is a major international force in its specific industrial sector: Case IH, New Holland Agriculture and Steyr for tractors and agricultural machinery; Case and New Holland Construction for earth moving equipment; Iveco for commercial vehicles; Iveco Bus and Heuliez Bus for buses and coaches; Iveco Astra for quarry and construction vehicles; Magirus for firefighting vehicles; Iveco Defence Vehicles for defence and civil protection; and FPT Industrial for engines and transmissions.
