Progressive university aims to improve the student digital experience through a single modern system for more than 4,000 students and staff
Unit4, a fast growing leader in enterprise applications for service organizations, today announced that Reykjavik University is adopting its new cloud Student Management system. Reykjavik University is Iceland's largest private institution for higher education and a dynamic international university with around 4,000 students.
Reykjavik University is looking to Unit4's world leading Student Management system to provide a next generation platform for its students.
"We want to ensure our IT infrastructure delivers a great user experience by leveraging new digital technology advances," said Heidar Jon Hannesson, the University's Executive Director of IT. "Recently we upgraded our internal network to the latest technology and Wifi standards to prepare the Campus for IoE and the flood of Bring-Your-Own student gadgets. Now we are taking the next step by reviewing and redesigning all our workflow and processes related to Student lifecycle management and teaching. We have very strong technical skills within the University and are excited to be working with Unit4 as one of the early adopters of the new system to achieve these changes instead of investing more in our present bespoke solution. We will be implementing Unit4 Student Management together with a new Learning Management System. We already use Unit4's Business World ERP system and look forward to building a holistic solution upon the Unit4 platform for Education. We have found Unit4 to be very responsive and a good partner to work with."
This is the first system released to the market in over a decade that addresses a pressing need for innovation in student management. Following record success since launching in North America, Unit4 announced European availability through an early adopter program just last month. A completely new "built-from-scratch" cloud system, Unit4 Student Management is enabling customers to change the way they attract, manage and support students throughout their lifecycle.
Research recently commissioned by Unit4 among more than 2,000 full time and part time students showed that 73 percent of students recommend their university reviews and changes its digital strategy for student administration. Around one third of students feel student administration systems do not meet their expectations, making them less likely to recommend the institution. Full research findings will be published later this month.
