Elsevier to Introduce New Orthopaedic Books, Including Five on Hand Surgery, at American Society for Surgery of the Hand Annual Meeting 2016

PHILADELPHIA, September 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --

"Meet the Editors" and Book Signing at Elsevier Booth #300

Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, today announced that it will introduce five hand surgery books and several other new leading orthopaedic texts, at the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH) Annual Meeting, September 29th through October 1st, 2016 in Austin, TX.

Headlining Elsevier's new book offerings is Green's Operative Hand Surgery, 7th edition, considered the "gold standard" text in hand, wrist and elbow surgery, edited by Drs. Scott W. Wolfe, William C. Pederson, Robert N. Hotchkiss, Scott H. Kozin, and Mark S. Cohen.

"Green's Operative Hand Surgery has been the trusted source for hand surgeons globally for four decades. This book is written by experts for experts, and is loaded with masterful techniques you can take to the OR. A key to our success is a dedicated and masterful editorial staff that polishes the chapters to perfection. Green's is like having 80 expert consultants at your fingertips, 24-7," said Dr. Wolfe.

A 'Meet The Editors' event and book signing with Dr. Wolfe and other lead editors of the new edition will take place at the Elsevier Booth (#300) on Friday, September 30th at 10:00 am.

Elsevier also will be promoting the launch of the 13th edition of Campbell's Operative Orthopaedics, edited by Drs. Frederick M. Azar, James H. Beaty, and S. Terry Canale. Unrivalled in scope and depth, 'Campbell's' continues to be the most widely used resource in orthopaedic surgery, relied on for years by surgeons across the globe. The newest edition boasts hundreds of new cutting-edge techniques, illustrations, photos and high-quality digital diagnostic images in a clean, modern format and will be a featured set at the ASSH meeting this year.

Additional new editions to Elsevier's orthopedic portfolio to be featured at ASSH include:

  • Techniques in Wrist and Hand Arthroscopy, 2nd edition, by Dr. David J. Slutsky.
  • Principles of Hand Surgery and Therapy, 3rd edition, by Drs. Thomas E. Trumble, Ghazi M. Rayan, Marc E. Baratz, Jeffrey E. Budoff, and David J. Slutsky
  • Operative Techniques: Hand and Wrist Surgery, by Dr. Kevin Chung
  • Emergency Surgery of the Hand, 4th edition, by Drs. Michel Merle and Gilles Dautel

"The books being introduced by Elsevier this year at ASSH are among the most widely used resources in Orthopaedics," said Linda Belfus, Senior Vice President, Content, Elsevier Clinical Solutions. "Leaders in the field provide fresh approaches in this highly evolving subspecialty, as well as authoritative guidance to help physicians achieve optimal outcomes."
