Research and Markets - Global Industrial Biomass Boiler Market CAGR Growth of 7.11% by 2020 - Trends, Technologies & Opportunities Report 2016-2020 - Vendors: ANDRITZ, Enertime, Dongfang Boiler

DUBLIN, October 24, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --

Research and Markets has announced the addition of the "Global Industrial Biomass Boiler Market 2016-2020" report to their offering.

The global industrial biomass boiler market is forecast to grow at a CAGR of 7.11% during the period 2016-2020.

Commenting on the report, an analyst from the research team said: Rise in use of biomass district heating. Biomass district heating is used in areas where the building density is high and a single boiler generates the heat that is transferred through a heat network to cater to several buildings. A district heating center is more convenient than an individual heater that is installed in houses and buildings, as it can use flexible fuel to provide heat when there is a shortage of biomass supply. District heating centers allow higher economies of scale in producing heat and uses better technologies to produce heat efficiently.

According to the report, a key growth driver is the growing focus on reducing GHG emissions. The rise in GHG emission levels and the need to diversify the energy mix have driven the demand for efficient and clean fuels. Approximately 40%-50% of power consumption in residential and commercial buildings, and industries is used for space heating. Renewable energy sources such as biomass boilers help reduce carbon emissions and improve the energy rating of the buildings. Biomass, being locally produced, is cheaper than conventional fuels. It has an added advantage of carbon neutrality. Therefore, its adoption as primary energy will address the challenges such as rising GHG emissions and the need for diversified energy portfolio.

Further, the report states that one of the biggest challenges that the biomass plants face is the need for high initial capital. There are several technologies and varieties of feedstock involved in the process of converting biomass into useful heat and power. Along with these two, the distance of transportation has an impact on the amount needed as investment. The technologies are in various stages of commercialization and require high investment. This makes it difficult for biomass plants to compete with conventional boilers such as coal-based power plants.

The study was conducted using an objective combination of primary and secondary information including inputs from key participants in the industry. The report contains a comprehensive market and vendor landscape in addition to a SWOT analysis of the key vendors.
