XFlow software solutions are used by simulation analysts for accurate and robust simulation of highly dynamic fluid flow in order to solve challenging CFD problems faster than traditional methods. Customers include Airbus, Caterpillar, Doosan, Ford, Google X, Honda, Mitsubishi, NASA, Safran and Toyota.

"We believe the acquisition of Next Limit Dynamics by Dassault Systemes is the best decision for our employees, customers and partners. This transaction presents us with the best strategic path for Next Limit's future success and profitability, and puts XFlow in position to achieve breakthrough business results with Dassault Systemes," said Victor González, chief executive officer of Next Limit Group.

With this transaction, Next Limit will focus its resources and investment in developing cutting edge 3D simulation technologies for current and new markets such as virtual reality, big data, product design and others. By investing in these high growth areas, Next Limit can expand the breadth of our portfolio and attract new partners worldwide who depend on the company to deliver world-class solutions.

Realistic simulation - from early concept to late-stage validation - is a mandatory discipline for the successful creation of sustainable consumer experiences. XFlow's Lattice-Boltzmann method is used to predict and enhance the performance of complex designs. This methodology can help improve an automobile's fuel economy and lower its emissions, reduce the environmental noise of aircraft, and increase the efficiency of wind turbines for power generation.

This transaction was completed on December 7, 2016.
