National Cyber Security Centre Approves Global MSP for Secure Government Projects
Adapt, a Datapipe company, today announced it has been awarded the Public Service Network (PSN) Code of Connection (CoCo) certification for its secure commercial community infrastructure. PSN Certification is a verification process for global managed service providers that, once completed, enables them to connect customers to public sector organisations, including local authorities and central government. The certification exemplifies Adapt's commitment to meeting the most stringent security measures required by the UK government.
The PSN is the government's high-performance network that helps public sector organisations work together, reduce duplication, and share resources. The PSN compliance process exists to provide the PSN community with:
- Confidence that the services they use over the network will work without problems.
- Assurance that their data is protected in accordance with suppliers' commitments.
- Service level agreement (SLA) commitments to deal with issues that may arise.
The PSN uses a 'walled garden' approach, which enables access to internet content and control of shared services. This approach ensures the security of any one user connected to the PSN does not impede the security of other users and the network itself.
Simon Schofield, Head of Security and Compliance, Adapt, said, "With this certification Datapipe has solidified its reputation as a secure partner for the public sector and commercial customers. The CoCo is an in-depth assessment to the latest UK government standards and we are delighted to meet its stringent requirements to become certified. Our success here not only validates the trust our current clients have in us, but provides a strong foundation for future projects."
Adapt was awarded the certification in January 2017 after six months of rigorous qualification. The lengthy five-step evaluation process - designed to expose any flaws in security - is a comprehensive test of a business' systems. In one step of the certification process, Adapt was required to undergo a National Cyber Security Centre approved CHECK penetration test, during which certified government penetration testers assessed the security of Adapt's data protection systems including the security of Adapt's platform, management system and service.
Datapipe has always been committed to providing the strictest managed security solutions that exceed customer standards worldwide. This latest certification is evidence of the company's security and compliance expertise specific to the United Kingdom.
