Seasoned Healthcare Executives to Guide Operations of Non-Traded HealthCare REIT
American Realty Capital ("ARC") announced that Todd Jensen and Steve Leathers have joined the company to oversee operations of American Realty Capital Healthcare Trust, an ARC-sponsored healthcare REIT. The company previously recruited John Wilkins to direct marketing strategy.
Mr. Jensen will become the Chief Investment Officer. Jensen has been in the real estate industry for 20 years, much of that time specializing in healthcare properties. Most recently, Jensen helped build the healthcare real estate development and acquisition business at DASCO, a national leader in the development, financing, leasing and management of medical office buildings and outpatient facilities. There he established valuable relationships with hospitals and health systems. Prior to that time, Mr. Jensen was a Healthcare Partner at Lauth Property Group, where he led the national Healthcare Group with overall financial responsibility for the business. Earlier in his career Jensen was a partner at the Hammes Company, a recognized leader in the healthcare industry where he initiated and managed relationships with senior management of client organizations and investment/capital partners.
Steve Leathers, who will become Vice President, Acquisitions, previously served as a senior member of the real estate investment management platform for Grubb & Ellis Realty Investors, specializing in healthcare; he was directly responsible for sourcing acquisitions and portfolio asset management.
This past year, John Wilkins joined ARC Healthcare Trust to serve as the Chief Marketing Officer and Product Manager, providing the key interface between the senior management of ARC Healthcare and the broker-dealer community. He began his career in the real estate industry and over the last 25 years has worked primarily in property development, asset management, consulting and distributing real estate investment products. From 2002 to 2010 Mr. Wilkins served as Senior Regional Vice President for Grubb & Ellis Securities, a managing broker-dealer for various investment programs where he was responsible for the distribution of Grubb & Ellis Healthcare REIT. During his tenure at Grubb, Mr. Wilkins was the leading sales professional across product lines, and in 2009 he led the sales forces in capital raised for Grubb & Ellis Healthcare REIT. From 1997 to 2002, Mr. Wilkins served as Senior Vice President for Jones Lang LaSalle in the Investment Banking Group.
