HAYWARD, Calif., Oct. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- AMtec Solar is pleased to announce the release of our new line of Solar Combiner Boxes with Disconnecting DC Contactor and our exclusive Remote Solar Combiner Disconnect Control Panel. This new combination gives service and emergency personnel push-button control to open or close string level outputs at either the combiner box or up to 1500 feet away at the control panel which may be placed in the building's utility room. The ability to disconnect the solar combiner boxes from a distant location adds a previously unavailable level of safety for emergency responders.

The solar combiner box with contactor disconnects is available in two configurations:
12 String and 3 x 12 string (36 string total).
Each 12 string circuit is rated for 200Amp continuous duty. The 3 x 12 string configuration is built into a single enclosure. Each of the 12 string groupings has its own dedicated disconnect making it possible for a service technician to safely disconnect each 12 string circuit at the combiner box if desired.
AMtec Solar's Contactor Combiner Box is listed to UL1741.
UL508a Listed Remote Solar Disconnect Control Panel
The Solar Disconnect Contactor Control Panel is available with or without green and red LED status indicator lights. The LED status indicator lights give the operator or emergency personnel the ability to see at the remotely located disconnect panel if the DC contactors are open or closed. A built-in battery provides indicator light backup power for up to 7 hours in the event of power loss to the facility.
The control panel is equipped with a charge controller to maintain the battery's charge and is a UL508A listed product built in AMtec's UL508A certified shop.
Easy Resumption of Operations
A turn of the keyed main switch will close all DC contactors in 2 second intervals resuming normal operation without a sudden surge to the system.
