Maxthon Releases Nitro, the Fastest PC Browser in the World

-- New Web Browser Offers the Quickest Startup Times and Incomparable Page Loading Speeds for Windows PC

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --Maxthon, a global software company that develops state-of-the-art web browsers, today released Maxthon Nitro, the fastest Windows PC browser currently available. Nitro starts 3x faster, while fetching and loading web pages considerably quicker than any other existing Windows PC browser. This is the newest addition to the company's family of high-performance web browsers and is targeted at users who want a stripped-down, high performance browser with a minimalist design, a light memory and CPU footprint.

"80% of our users say that more speed is their #1 wish for their web browser," said Jeff Chen, CEO of Maxthon. "Maxthon Nitro more than satisfies that request."

Nitro's streamlined and quick performance is achieved in part by drastically reducing its UI/UX load, adding new, patent-pending pre-connection and pre-fetching technology and by stripping out features that hog resources or cause delays in start-up times and page rendering. The result is a browser that launches in 700 milliseconds compared to Google Chrome's cold start time of 3,819 milliseconds.

Maxthon Nitro also bests the competition in other, broader browser test speed measurements including the Dromaeo suite of tests. In a side-by-side, controlled testing environment, Nitro clocked in with a score of 842 compared to Chrome's 788.

Highlights of Maxthon Nitro include:

  • Installs and starts 3x faster thanthe 2nd fastest Windows PC browser- Chrome v.39
  • Loads web pages 30% faster than Chrome v.39
  • Utilizes pre-fetching technology of users' favorite web pages to enablealmost instantaneous page loading
  • Noticeably speeds up web browsing on any Windows PC made before 2014
  • Has a clutter-free, intuitive look and feel that makes it easy to use, from first launch onward.

"Using Nitro makes your web experience noticeably faster," said Karl Mattson, VP of Maxthon's International Division. "Anyone using Windows will benefit from this new browser's speed and power."
