Cosmo Pharmaceuticals' Lizenznehmer Dr. Falk Pharma erhält die Zulassung im europäischen dezentralen Verfahren für Relafalk (Rifamycin SV MMX) bei Reisedurchfall
Dublin, Irland - 28. November 2018 - Cosmo Pharmaceuticals N.V. (SIX: COPN) teilte heute mit, dass der Lizenznehmer Dr. Falk Pharma heute die Zulassung im europäischen dezentralen Verfahren (European Decentralized Procedure DCP) für Relafalk (Rifamycin SV MMX) zur Behandlung von Reisedurchfall erhalten hat. Diese Zulassung folgt auf die Zulassung von AEMCOLO (Rifamycin SV MMX) durch die FDA am 16. November für die gleiche Indikation.
Das europäische dezentrale Verfahren betrifft die folgenden Mitgliedstaaten: Deutschland, Großbritannien, Spanien, Dänemark, Griechenland, Finnland, Ungarn, Norwegen, Portugal, Polen, Schweden und Bulgarien.

Über RELAFALK
Relafalk (Rifamycin SV MMX) ist ein oral verabreichtes, minimal absorbiertes Antibiotikum, das für die Behandlung von Reisedurchfall zugelassen ist, der durch nicht-invasive Escherichia coli-Stämme bei Erwachsenen verursacht wird. Relafalk ist das erste mit der Multi-Matrix-Technologie (MMX) von Cosmo Pharmaceuticals entwickelte Antibiotikum, das die Freisetzung von Wirkstoff im Dickdarm ermöglicht. Relafalk wurde auf der Grundlage von Daten aus zwei randomisierten, kontrollierten klinischen Phase-III-Studien mit mehreren Zentren genehmigt. In beiden Studien wurde Relafalk drei Tage lang zweimal täglich mit 400 mg verabreicht. Relafalk zeigte eine Überlegenheit gegenüber Placebo und Nichtunterlegenheit gegenüber Ciprofloxacin für den primären Endpunkt (Zeit bis zum letzten ungeformten Stuhl).
