FRANKFURT, March 5 (Reuters) - Air Berlin, Germany's second-biggest airline after Lufthansa, said the number of passengers its planes carried rose by 3.1 percent in February, rebounding from a decline in January.
Passenger volume rose to 1.95 million in the month, Air Berlin said on Friday. But its load factor -- a measure of capacity utilisation -- narrowed by 0.3 percent to 70.6 percent as the carrier added capacity.
Airlines are reeling from the aviation industry's worst year ever, in which demand dropped faster than capacity could be cut. Air Berlin started adding more seats again in November.
