BEIJING (AFX) - Toyota Motor Corp said it will recall some 1,717 Lexus LS430 sedans imported into China due to a fuel pump fault.
Toyota identified the problem as a turbine blade distortion in the fuel pump, which may stop it operating and potentially cause an engine failure.
The recall involves Lexus LS430 sedans produced between July 2003 and March last year, the company said.
Toyota said it would replace the fuel pumps free of charge between Jan 24 to April 30.
Toyota operates a sales joint venture with China First Automotive Works (FAW) Group Corp -- FAW Toyota Motor Sales Co Ltd -- and a 50-50 manufacturing joint venture with Guangzhou Automobile Group Co.
