SAN FRANCISCO (AFX) -- North American-based semiconductor equipment makers posted $1.12 billion in orders in August, according to data released Tuesday evening by industry group SEMI, vs. $1.01 billion in July. Billings fell to $1.07 billion from $1.08 billion, bring the book-to-bill ratio for the month to 1.05.
