LONDON (AFX) - Russian oil giant OAO Lukoil said its net profit for the full year 2005 was 6.4 bln usd, up 52 pct from 4.2 bln usd a year earlier.
It achieved sales in 2005 of 56 bln usd, a rise of 65 pct from 34 bln, and EBITDA of 10.4 bln usd, up 45 pct from 7.2 bln.
Earnings per share on a diluted basis was 7.79 usd, up 52 pct from 5.13 usd previously.
Lukoil said the increase in net profit resulted from favorable price conditions in 2005 and effective cost control.
However, an increased tax burden partially restrained profit growth, it added. newsdesk@afxnews.com jfr COPYRIGHT Copyright AFX News Limited 2005. All rights reserved.
