NEW YORK (AFX) - NessCap Co. Ltd., privately held Korean developer of ultracapacitor technology, on Friday said it filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Maxwell Technologies Inc.
NessCap filed the lawsuit in U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware. The complaint alleges Maxwell products infringe upon NessCap's intellectual property.
The lawsuit was filed roughly a month after Maxwell, a San Diego, Calif.-based maker of ultracapacitors, filed a patent infringement lawsuit against NessCap.
NessCap suggested in a prepared statement that Maxwell filed the lawsuit after the companies' merger discussions ended abruptly.
Maxwell wasn't immediately available for comment.
Shares of Maxwell fell 18 cents to $14.22 in morning trading on the Nasdaq.
