TAIPEI (XFN-ASIA) - Taipei's city government has decided to ease restrictions on construction space in strategic development areas in a bid to speed up urban planning, the Economic Daily News reported.
The newspaper quoted the mayor, Hau Lung-bin, as saying that his administration will first decide on adjustments regarding floor size limits before taking any applications from private companies.
Strategic development areas include neighborhoods near mass rapid transit (MTR) stations, public transportation hubs, parks and riverbanks.
There is a room to raise the construction space by up to a total of 3,000 hectares, the daily added.
