BRUSSELS (Thomson Financial) - Telecoms group Belgacom SA said its internet music and entertainment downloading service unit Skynet is not for sale, in response to rumours that a divestment is being considered by the company.
Cited in daily Le Soir, a spokesman for Belgacom said Skynet is an 'integral part' of the group's strategy.
The spokesman said the functions of the unit, like all the company's divisions, will be analysed to better integrate the group's services. He added that no job cuts are foreseen at the unit.
Hi-Media Belgium, cited in the newspaper, said it would be interested to study the dossier of Skynet should Belgacom seek a sale. simon.zekaria@thomson.com sz/lam COPYRIGHT Copyright Thomson Financial News Limited 2007.
