PARIS (Thomson Financial) - Infogrames Entertainment said its strategy is unaffected by the decision of its US unit Atari Inc to withdraw from the production of video games and to focus on publishing and distribution in North America.
Infogrames' production and publishing activities will continue to draw on its own studio, Eden Games, and its global network of external partners, it said.
Atari's decision, announced yesterday, does not threaten Infogrames' capacity to develop a programme of video games, which it intends to continure marketing under the Atari brand, the French company said.
Atari is 51 pct owned by Infogrames.
