SEOUL (Thomson Financial) - South Korea's Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co Ltd. said on Wednesday it has secured an order worth $820 million to supply equipment for a coal-fired power plant in Thailand.
The contract from Thailand's Gheco-One Co Ltd., a joint venture between French utility Suez's unit and Thai developer Hemaraj, will last until October 2011, the South Korean company told the stock exchange.
The 700-megawatt power plant is to be located in Thailand's Rayong Province.
At 10:32 a.m. (0132 GMT), Doosan Heavy shares were up 2.6 percent at 118,500 won, while the main KOSPI index gained 0.1 percent at 1,821.78.
