DETROIT (AP) - Canadian Auto Workers President Buzz Hargrove says he is disappointed that General Motors Corp. refuses to back down from its plan to idle a truck plant in Oshawa, Ontario.
Hargrove spoke to reporters after a meeting Friday morning with GM CEO Rick Wagoner in Detroit.
Hargrove says Wagoner told him the plant will be shut down. The union leader says he now will consider his options, which may include a strike, arbitration or a labor board action.
The meeting came after three days of union protests at the company's Canadian headquarters.
Detroit-based GM announced Tuesday it is closing Oshawa and three other pickup truck and sport utility vehicle factories as $4 per gallon gas hurts sales of those vehicles.
