WARSAW, Aug 21 (Reuters) - Polish restaurant operator AmRest <AMMR.WA> has offered 20.2 million zlotys ($9 million) for 11.2 percent of smaller rival Sfinks <SFNK.WA> to boost its stake to 25.5 percent, the company said in a statement on Thursday.
AmRest, which operates fast food restaurants such as Burger King and KFC in Poland, is offering 19.41 zlotys per share to buy 1.04 million shares in Sfinks, a 1-percent premium over the Wednesday closing price of 19.19 zlotys.
Trading in Sfinks shares was suspended until 0755 GMT.
