Dec 29 (Reuters) - British oil and gas producer Venture Production said on Monday it had brought the Grouse oil field in the central North Sea into production, and met production targets.
Initial well productivity was in line with previous estimates of around 5,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd) net to the company, Aberdeen-based Venture said.
Venture is the operator and has a 50 percent working interest in Grouse, which is the third field that Venture has developed into production during 2008, the company said.
Grouse is the third new Greater Kittiwake Area field the company has brought into production since taking over operatorship five years ago, it said.
Additionally, the Mallard field was also returned to production in mid-December, Venture said.
Shares of the company closed at 424.75 pence on Wednesday.
