SEOUL, Jan 2 (Reuters) - South Korean President Lee Myung-bak pledged on Friday to do his utmost to help bring down market interest rates in line with the steep reductions in the official rates by the country's central bank.
'If interest rates stand high at this time of economic difficulty, average people will eventually be pushed into a marginal situation,' Lee said in a televised New Year address.
