BANGKOK, March 3 (Reuters) - Thailand's benchmark stock index was down 1.2 percent at 411.53 in thin turnover of 4.8
billion baht ($133 million) at 0802 GMT on Tuesday.

Hypermarket operator Big C Supercenter slid 1.3 percent to 37.50 baht after it said it expected 2009 earnings growth to be lower than last year's 14 percent because of smaller tax incentives.

PTT CHEMICAL PLUNGES TO RECORD LOW
Thailand's largest olefins maker slumped nearly 10 percent to 25.25 baht, having hit a record low of 24.90 baht in early trade, reflecting a drop in petrochemical product prices across the board as a result of weak demand and oversupply, analysts said.

ITALIAN-THAI DEVELOPMENT DOWN AFTER RESULTS
Thailand's top building contractor eased 2.8 percent to 2.06 baht, having hit its lowest since Dec. 23 of 2 baht after the firm reported a net loss of 2.66 billion baht for 2008 against a net profit of 1.01 billion baht a year earlier, due to a lack of government spending on infrastructure.

TRUE CORP GAINS, ANALYST'S OUTPERFORM RATING
Thailand's only integrated telecoms firm gained 3.76 percent to 1.37 baht in afternoon trade, recovering from a 3.8 percent drop to 1.28 baht, its lowest since Dec. 12, after it reported a fourth-quarter net loss.
Kasikorn Securities, which rates the stock an 'outperform' and gave a target share price of 2.20 baht, said: 'The next catalysts for True will be a successful debt refinancing and finding partners to bid for a 3G licence.'

ESSO (THAILAND) TUMBLES AFTER A BIG NET LOSS
The Thai unit of Exxon Mobil slumped 6.2 percent to 3.94 baht, coming off from the lowest since it listed in May 2008, after it reported a net loss of 6.86 billion baht for 2008 against a 7.05 billion baht net profit a year earlier.
