FRANKFURT, June 8 (Reuters) - International Lease Finance Corp (ILFC) may cancel orders for ten A380 superjumbos, Sueddeutsche Zeitung reported, citing the airplane leasing company's Chief Executive Steven Udvar-Hazy.
'We can pull out between January and June 2010 without paying penalties,' the newspaper cited him as saying in an interview published on its website on Monday.
Airbus, the unit of EADS that makes the A380, said it was unaware of any cancellations or moves to cancel.
European planemaker Airbus last month cut its 2009 delivery target for the A380 superjumbo to 14 from 18, blaming the economic crisis and deferral requests from airline customers.
'I see a general structural change in the industry and in the way that airlines think about the A380,' Udvar-Hazy told Sueddeutsche Zeitung in the interview.
Udvar-Hazy had told Reuters on the sidelines of the annual meeting of the International Air Transport Association in Kuala Lumpur that ILFC was in negotiations for more planes with Airbus and U.S.-based rival Boeing.
