BANGKOK, July 24 (Reuters) - Thailand's benchmark stock index was up 0.38 pct at 614.50 at 0516 GMT on Friday.

BANPU HITS 3-WEEK HIGH ON HIGHER COAL PRICES
Rising coal prices pushed shares in the country's biggest coal miner to a three-week high of 342 baht and brokers said they expected demand from China to drive up its earnings this year.
Kim Eng said in a research note it had revised up its forecast for Banpu's average selling price per tonne by $3 to $72 this year and to $75 for next year.
It also raised its forecast for this year's earnings by 12 percent to 12.6 billion baht, up 27 percent from last year.

THAI AIRWAYS DOWN AFTER DELAYING A380 ORDERS
The national carrier fell 1.5 percent to 13.10 baht after it said it had agreed with Airbus to delay the delivery of six A380 superjumbos to December 2012 from late 2010 because of the weak airline business.

TPI POLENE PCL AT 6-WEEK HIGH ON PROFIT OUTLOOK
Thailand's third-largest cement maker rose 0.8 percent to 6.40 baht, its highest since June 11, extending a 4.95 percent gain a day earlier after the company told Reuters it expected debt restructuring gains and dividend income to boost earnings in the third quarter and full-year 2009.

PTT CHEMICAL UP ON EARNING HOPES
Shares in the country's largest olefins maker outperformed the petrochemical sector and the overall market, rising nearly
3.0 percent to a three
week high of 52 baht, due to hopes that the company will return to a net profit in the second quarter.
Asia Plus said in a research note it expected the firm to report a net profit of 2.3 billion baht against a net loss of 393 million baht it made in the frist quarter, boosted by higher spread for its key product, high-density polyethylene (HDPE).
