US Sen Durbin says will back Bernanke nomination

WASHINGTON, Jan 23 (Reuters) - U.S. Democratic Senator Dick Durbin said on Saturday he would support Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke's nomination to a second term.

'I will vote to confirm Ben Bernanke to continue to serve as chairman of the Federal Reserve,' Durbin, the No. 2 Democrat in the Senate, said in a statement.
