Obama: US on track to add 1.5 million jobs in year

WASHINGTON, Jan 27 (Reuters) - President Barack Obama on Wednesday said the United States was on track to add 1.5 million jobs this year because of the economic stimulus bill, and called for a new bill to create more jobs.

In his State of the Union address to Congress, he proposed a tax credit for small businesses that hire new workers or raise wages, and proposed taking $30 billion in bailout money to help community banks get credit to small businesses.
