GOLDMAN SACHS
The New York-based firm replaced Marc Spilker, co-head of its investment management division, with Edward Forst.
Spilker is retiring, and Forst will lead the unit with Tim O'Neill.

Separately, Brown University President Ruth Simmons has decided not to stand for re-election to the bank's board of directors, citing increasing time demands associated with her position at the university. Simmons, a Goldman director since January 2000, had also been a member of its Compensation Committee and Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee.
RENAISSANCE CAPITAL
The largest private investment bank in Russia announced Stephen Jennings will return as chief executive, a role he relinquished in 2007.
The Moscow-based firm also hired Nick Andrews, former head of JPMorgan Chase's Asia Pacific and emerging markets equities as head of global equities.
Former Lehman executives Mark Harris and Michael Schulz join the firm as global head of compliance and global head of risk, respectively.
ALLIANZ
The German insurer said Gerhard Rupprecht, a member of its board of management, will retire at the end of this year. Werner Zedelius will take over Rupprecht's board responsibilities for Germany, Switzerland and Austria on Jan. 1, 2011.
LV ASSET MANAGEMENT
The fund manager appointed Piers Hillier as its chief investment officer. Hillier had previously worked with West LB Mellon Asset Management and Deutsche Asset Management, an arm of Deutsche Bank.
ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND
The U.S. global banking and markets division hired two mortgage-backed securities specialists. Gregory Reiter joins as managing director of agency residential security strategy, and Jeana Curro joins as vice president for agency MBS/CMOs.
Both will be based in Stamford, Connecticut.
UBS AG
UBS has hired Michelle Sweda as a member of its capital introduction team in Chicago. She will work with Jeff Shookus covering the Midwest & Southwest. Sweda, who had worked at UBS from 2005 through 2008, had been director of marketing at 2100 Xenon Group.
