Southeast Asia's biggest lender DBS Group poached Morgan Stanley's high-profile Tan Su Shan to head its private bank to bolster its wealth business and seize share from foreign rivals.

American International Group Inc named Henry Miller, chairman and co-founder of boutique investment bank Miller Buckfire & Co, to its board, according to a company statement.
BANK OF AMERICA CORP
Bank of America Merrill Lynch has hired Chad Karpes to head its bond syndicate. Earlier this week, Karpes left Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) where he acted as bond syndicate head for four years, starting first with ABN AMRO until that unit was acquired by RBS.
Separately, Merrill Lynch Wealth Management hired Nick Booth as a business development director. Booth joins from Newscape Capital Group and will be based in Jersey.

The private equity firm has hired Robert Essner as a senior adviser to its Global Healthcare group. Essner was formerly the chief executive of pharmaceutical company Wyeth.
