end S&P 500 target to 1,350 from 1,250
UBS has raised its year-end 2010 S&P 500 price target to 1,350 from 1,250 due, citing strong economic and earnings results. 'Over the past several months, economic activity and earnings results have come in better than expected. As a result, we are increasing our 2010 and 2011 S&P 500 operating EPS estimates to $90 and $100, respectively, from $83 and $92,' said Jonathan Golub, chief strategist at UBS.

Futures gain on Greece hope, Caterpillar on tap
U.S. stock index futures were modestly higher on Monday, the first session after hitting a 19-month high, as investors awaited key earnings reports and a Greek official said an aid package would help avert a sovereign debt default.
S&P 500 futures added 2.5 points and were above fair value, a formula that evaluates pricing by taking into account interest rates, dividends and time to expiration on the contract. Charles River to buy WuXi PharmaTech for $1.6 bln
U.S. clinical research company Charles River Laboratories International on Monday said it had agreed to buy China's WuXi PharmaTech for $1.6 billion to expand its contract research and drug development services.
Charles River will offer $21.25 per WuXi American Depositary Share and each WuXi ADS will be exchanged for $11.25 in cash and $10 of Charles River common stock determined by an exchange ratio, the company said.

Shares of Charles closed Friday at $39.77 while WuXi shares were 8.7 percent higher at $18.01 in premarket trading.

Hertz to buy Dollar Thrifty for $1.2 bln
Hertz Global Holdings Inc had agreed to buy smaller rival Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group Inc for about $1.2 billion to boost its presence in the leisure rental market.
The cash-and-stock offer of $41 per share is at a 5.5 percent premium to Dollar Thrifty's Friday close of $38.85.
