LONDON, June 9 (Reuters) - Britain's Elgin gas field stopped production after a minor technical issue on Tuesday night, operator Total said on Wednesday.
The spokeswoman did not comment on the likely gas field restart date.
The combined North Sea Elgin-Franklin gas fields feed into Britain's Bacton SEAL gas terminal, and the facility showed an overnight drop of 14 million cubic metres (mcm) a day in supply to 8 mcm/day, according to National Grid data.
Elgin-Franklin produced around 13 mcm/day in June 2009, according to government figures, which equates to around five percent of UK gas demand in spring.
