TOKYO, July 28 (Reuters) - A large crude oil tanker operated by Japan's Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Ltd was damaged in an explosion near the strait of Hormuz on Oman waters, injuring one person, the Transport Ministry in Tokyo said on Wednesday.
It quoted the company as saying the explosion may have been caused by an outside attack.
There was no leakage of oil from the tanker, which had 16 Filipino and 15 Indian crew members on board. It was sailing under its own power towards a port in the United Arab Emirates to check the damage, the ministry added in a statement.
