BRUSSELS, Dec 20 (Reuters) - Euro zone consumer confidence worsened in December as the currency area scrambled to contain a sovereign debt crisis, data showed on Monday.
The European Commission said in a flash estimate that consumer morale in the 16-country currency area was at -11.0 in December, down from the upwardly revised -9.4 in November.
In the wider 27-nation European Union, consumer sentiment declined to -12.1 from -11.0.
