MOSCOW, April 14 (Reuters) - Russia's top crude producer, Rosneft, said on Thursday it is not looking for new partners to replace BP in their Arctic development and $16 billion share swap deals.
'We are not looking to replace BP in the deal, and we agree to extend the share swap agreement till May 16,' a Rosneft spokesman told Reuters.
In a statement on Rosneft's website (www.rosneft.ru), President Eduard Khudainatov said he hoped that BP would be able to resolve a quarrel over its involvement in the Rosneft deal with its Moscow-based partners in their Russian joint venture.
Earlier on Thursday, BP said it has agreed with Rosneft to extend the deadline for completing the share swap agreement to May 16. Rosneft confirmed in a statement the deadline was extended.
