PEKING (dpa-AFX) - Confidence among Chinese businesses fell notably in the second quarter, a report from the National Bureau of Statistics showed Friday.
The business confidence index fell to 132.4 in the second quarter from 137.4 in the first quarter. Confidence declined among wholesalers, retailers, constructors, industrial enterprises and transportation, storage and postal industries.
Confidence diminished among large, medium and small business entrepreneurs, the survey showed. Meanwhile, the business climate index, another measure of business outlook among industries, improved 1.8 points from the previous quarter to 135.6.
