PARIS (dpa-AFX) - French business sentiment declined notably in June, latest survey results from the Bank of France (BoF) showed Friday.
The confidence indicator for industry fell to 99 in June from 103 in May. It has now fallen below its long-term average of 100. The business sentiment indicator in services stood at 99, down from 100 in May.
According to the monthly index of business activity, the gross domestic product is expected to grow 0.2 percent in the second quarter of 2011, which is 0.2 percentage point below the previous estimate.
Industrial activity declined in June due to the weaker performance of the automotive, equipment manufacturing and other industrial goods sectors, the bank said in a statement. The survey forecasts suggested that activity should remain stable.
