
LONDON (dpa-AFX) - Domino's Pizza UK & IRL Plc (DOM.L) Monday reported a pre-tax profit of 19.00 million pounds for the 26 weeks ended June 26 compared to 17.00 million pounds a year ago.
Profit before tax and exceptional items increased 14.8 percent to 20.09 million pounds from 17.51 million pounds a year ago.
Profit for the period attributable to owners of the parent was 13.05 million pounds compared to 12.06 million pounds in the previous year. On a per share basis, profit was up to 15.5 percent to 9.11 pence from 7.89 pence a year earlier.
Earnings per share before exceptional charges improved to 9.11 pence from 8.08 pence last year.
Revenue for the 26 weeks ended June 26 was 102.15 million pounds compare to 91.33 million pounds in the previous year. Like-for-like sales in 607 mature stores increased 2.4 percentage.
During the period, the company opened 22 new stores with one closure resulting in a total of 688 stores as at June 26 compared to 627 last year. The company also plans to open 60 new stores this year.
Further, the company increase its total dividend by 22.2 percent to 5.50 pence per share from 4.50 pence in the prior year.
