OTTAWA (dpa-AFX) - correction: corrects the headline and first sentence to replace 'Q3' with 'Q4'.
Shaw Communications Inc. (SJR_B.TO, SJR) posted a decline in its fourth-quarter net income to C$82.49 million from C$121.57 million a year earlier. Net income attributable to common shareholders was C$80.71 million, lower than C$121.57 million last year.
Earnings per share for the three-month period were C$0.18 versus C$0.28 in the year-ago period.
However, quarterly revenue increased 25.8% to C$1.18 billion from C$938.87 million in the comparable period.
Additionally, Shaw's board declared monthly dividends of $0.076667 on its Class B Non-Voting Participating Shares and $0.076458 on its Class A Participating Shares, payable on each of December 29, 2011, January 30, 2012 and February 28, 2012, to holders of record at the close of business on December 15, 2011, January 15, 2012 and February 15, 2012, respectively.
