WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Teleflex Inc. (TFX) said its net income attributable to common shareholders for the third quarter climbed to $43.65 million or $1.07 per share from $22.2 million or $0.55 per share in the prior year.
Adjusted income were up to $42.05 million or $1.03 per share from $39.99 million or $0.99 per share in the year-ago quarter.
Net revenues for the quarter rose to $371.89 million from $345.04 million in the previous year.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.98 per share on revenues of $361.52 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Going ahead, for 2011, the company now expects adjusted earnings per share to be in the range of $4.05 to $4.10 versus range of $4.05 to $4.25 expected earlier.
Also, revenue is currently expected to be in the range of $1.51 billion to $1.53 billion, up from the formerly expected range of $1.44 billion to $1.47 billion.
Analysts expect the company to earn $4.07 per share on revenues of $1.52 billion for the year.
