WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Rovi Corp. (ROVI) Tuesday said its third-quarter GAAP net income declined to $1.8 million or $0.02 per share from $36.4 million or $0.33 per share for the third quarter of 2010.
Adjusted pro forma income for the quarter was $70.9 million or $0.63 per share, compared to $59.9 million or $0.53 per share in the third quarter of 2010.
Fourteen analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of $0.61 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates normally exclude special items.
The digital entertainment technology solutions company's revenues for the third quarter advanced to $196.5 million from $138.0 million in the corresponding quarter last year.
On a non-GAAP basis, adjusted pro forma basis, revenue for the quarter $196.5 million, compared to $182.5 million in the prior-year quarter. Thirteen analysts had a consensus revenue estimate of $197.94 million for the quarter.
