LONDON (dpa-AFX) - Electrocomponents plc (ECM.L) Monday posted a rise in first-half profit before tax to 59.4 million euros from 50.5 million euros a year ago. Earnings per share improved to 9.4 pence from 8.0 pence. The company attributed the improvement to lower operating costs and stable gross margin.
Revenue for the period was 626.5 million euros, compared to 563.3 million euros, thanks to an underlying growth of 14 percent from the International geographic segment. Underlying growth was 5 percent in UK.
