PARIS (dpa-AFX) - Solvay SA (SOLB.BR, SVYSF.PK) Monday reported agreeing to form a joint venture with L'Air Liquide SA (AI.PA, AIQUY.PK) that involves development and operation of on-site fluorine cleaning gas units for the flat panel display and silicon thin film photovoltaic industries. The company added that fluorine gas has 'no global warming potential'. Vincent De Cuyper, Group General Manager of the Chemicals Sector at Solvay, commented 'This partnership will help satisfy growing world demand for environmentally-friendly cleaning gases.' Senior Vice-President at Air Liquide François Darchis said 'This major step will allow Air Liquide to expand its offer in the fast growing electronics market. Solvay brings its field-proven fluorine production technology and expertise.'
