WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Abaxis Inc. (ABAX) reported third-quarter net income of $2.9 million or $0.13 per share, compared to $3.8 million or $0.17 per share in the same period last year. On average, nine analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of $0.16 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items. Revenues grew 5 percent to $37.85 million from $35.91 million in the comparable quarter last year, while six analysts estimated revenues of $40.95 million for the quarter.
