NEW BRUNSWICK (dpa-AFX) - Healthcare giant Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) is bringing about management changes at its troubled consumer drug unit McNeil, the Wall Street Journal reported. The unit that makes pain reliever and fever reducer Tylenol as well as other over-the-counter drugs had to go through product recalls and manufacturing problems in the recent past, forcing it to revamp management less than a year ago. According to WSJ, the company is replacing two group chairmen - Patrick Mutchler and Pericles Stamatiades. Mutchler, who became head of the McNeil Consumer Healthcare unit in April, is retiring after serving the company for 35 years. Roberto Marques, chief of J&J's consumer businesses in North America, will take over the responsibilities of Mutchler. Stamatiades is leaving by the end of March. With 28 years of service at J&J, Stamatiades has been functioning as chief strategist for the consumer businesses since the revamp last year. His duties will be assigned to other officials. JNJ closed on Monday higher by 0.23 percent at $65.71 on 7.49 million shares.
