TOKYO (dpa-AFX) - Daiichi Sankyo (DSKYF.PK) reported a plunge in its nine-month net income to 17.54 billion yen from year-ago period's 79.66 billion yen, with earnings per share dropping to 24.89 yen from 113.07 yen last year. Net sales for the nine-month period totaled 696.40 billion yen compared with 748.06 billion yen in the previous year. For fiscal 2011, the company now sees net income of 15.0 billion yen or 21.31 yen per basic share compared with its earlier forecast of 26.0 billion yen or 36.9 yen per basic share. Further, Daiichi Sankyo updated its net sales guidance to 940.0 billion yen from its prior view of 930.0 billion yen.
